The Three Most Important Things on Mothers' Day
Wednesday, May 8, 2013
Whether it's your mom, wife, sister, or best friend, everyone knows an
amazing mother that deserves recognition 365 days out of the year. Mothers' Day
is the one day that we actually pay respect specifically to all the hard work
it takes to be a mom. Folks may be grateful for their moms all year round, but
let's be honest moms deserve to be especially appreciated on this day in a
special way.
You don't have to spend lots of money. That's the thing about moms – they
appreciate the thought behind gifts and gestures, not the monetary value. If
you want to make a true impact, make sure you do at least one of these three
things this upcoming holiday.
A Token
of Appreciation
Moms love to come home to little things that show you were thinking of
them. Pick flowers for her, make her favorite dessert, or have a little Mothers' Day
bear waiting for her. It shows that you were being thoughtful and will make
her smile.
A
Personal Acknowledgement
We know that store bought cards are common and lack that personalized
touch . Save money on a card. Better yet, write a note expressing gratitude to
a special mom. Use specific examples of
how great she is at her role. Instead of saying "you're so loving," tell
her that her kids will someday be so grateful when they realize how hard she
looked for those concert tickets they wanted. She'll keep the note forever. Then she will realize that the little things
she does, really are noticed and appreciated.
Help
Out!
Nothing is more valuable to a mother than something that gives her the
chance to relax. Clean the house, mow the lawn, send her off to a spa, or offer
to take the kids so she can go on a date with her husband. Do something that
gives her the chance to have a day to herself, doing what she likes… you have
no idea how much this means to a mother!
